Typically a store’s sign will let you know what type of store it is, and in turn, make you want to visit. So when I saw this sign, “Pickers Paradise,” I was intrigued as to what type of pickers shopped there. If you think about it, there are hundreds of types of pickers.
You have your feather pickers, nose hair pickers, eyebrow pickers, color pickers, and even your discount pickers, just to name a few.
Of course, I’m pretty sure this sign was talking about antique pickers, but who knows since it wasn’t listed on the sign.
I can only imagine what would have happened if the wrong kind of pickers showed up to pick! What a disaster if you mixed two different types at the same time! You know, like a group of movie pickers stopping by at the same time as a group of lottery pickers. It would be complete pandemonium, to say the least!
So maybe the sign should have specified. Of course, as you can see, it did list it was in West Montgomery (which is somewhat true since it’s on FM 1097 in Willis, Texas). But listing a description with the type of pickers they were trying to attract was definitely missing.
Oddly enough, I did find out from my sister-in-law that the sign was gone about a week after I took this picture. So who knows? Maybe if the sign had been clearer, they would have survived. Just saying…
Now for my finale, here’s my “quick list” (in a really cool graphic) of other types of pickers for you to ponder…
Signing off… this is Carm, one proud and Humble Texan!
